EDA was chosen to install the Vegetated Roof Assembly for this highly anticipated Museum that was constructed on the historic Philadelphia Parkway. Destined to become one of Philadelphia’s busiest tourist destinations, EDA’s Vegetated Roof Assembly is an important aesthetic feature of this project. EDA was contracted to install the roofing, waterproofing and standing seam roofing on the project. These added disciples required EDA to be responsible for the waterproofing integrity of the building. EDA fully understands that the project required a heightened attention to detail when installing the roofing system and during the installation of the Vegetated Roof Assembly. With priceless art being stored inside, EDA’s sole source installation will provide the Owner with the assurance that any potential problems will be handled by a single entity. (EDA).

This new movie studio wanted to add a Vegetated Roof Assembly and chose EDA to self-perform this work. Since EDA’s field personnel were installing the metal wall panels, air & vapor barriers and roofing system, it was an easy transition to have EDA’s field staff to install the new sedum carpet to the already installed roof. Since EDA’s Vegetated Roof Assembly was being installed over a single-ply roofing system, EDA’s staff needed to maintain this susceptible roofing system while installing the new sedum carpet. This installation required strict quality control and interaction between the roofing and Vegetated Roof Assembly division.

EDA was able to provide the Owner with a new waterproofing system that included new sedum tiles as part of the Manufacturer’s total system. Since EDA’s personnel would be installing the Vegetated Roof Assembly and waterproofing, the Owner and Manufacturer were confident in EDA’s ability to install a leak-free and viable Vegetated Roof Assembly.
